The Chronicles of Fire and Ice Book One in The Legend of the Archangel L L Hunter 9781479740307 Books

At first, this book annoyed me. The author couldn't keep herself with a single character to save her life. I almost gave up, but figured I'd push through.
I don't know when I realised it, but Ms Hunter is a genius. In spite of the cutting and shifting of perspective, the story began to weave together really well. I mean, it's essentially a half-angel boarding school (think, Hogwarts for half-human/angel mixes), and a teenage romance, right?
I mean, who doesn't sit around wanting more from life, or wanting their dreams to be real?
And then what happens when that dream meets you in a corridor. Yeah, you know something's gonna go down.
In spite of the well-structured viewpoints, the story does have a good pace, though slows a little towards the middle. don't worry, it picks back up. I do want to read the next book, but I'm not sure I can deal with that much… teenagerness. I'm also not down with the lingo, yo.
Okay, I'll stop.
If you're looking for something light to read, probably skip this one. But if you have a few hours to concentrate on the book, and you don't mind a bit of rom in your para, then grab this book and head on in.

The Chronicles of Fire and Ice Book One in The Legend of the Archangel L L Hunter 9781479740307 Books Reviews

I enjoyed this read. It grabbed me and pulled me into the story so much that I couldn't put it down. I finished in one day which was good. Maybe not for the projects I have going but it was a very relaxing time spent with a good book. The characters were very likable and the story moved along quickly. I love stories about angels. Stories like this is why I love Young Adult fiction !
Scarlett's longing for her dreams of more, immediately had me captured within every detailed page. I rode through each emotion of desire, of distraught, of grave and confusion.
Being the legend that she is; strong, determined and passionate, yet all the while remaining humble and kind, Scarlett is all that you would imagine a true heroine to be.
Dyston, her designed love, is simply divine. A grand and glorious being, debonair, though of bold strength both within and with out . . . all we girls could ever hope for.
And the twists that fall about her . . . grrrr . . .
The antagonist, Lakyn, is a being you can only love to hate and hate to love. He is determined to bring harm and havoc, and yet, I still sense his beauty within.
The plot then spun ever so more with the introduction of Rachel and Eden.
I was left with so many questions, and a craving more. I am now highly anticipating the read of Book Two, The Chronicles of Blood & Stone.
This story is so interesting and awesome!! I just love Scarlett and Dyston and all their amazing friends. In this book there are the Nephilim, Michaelits, and the Angels these are the good guys. Now the bad guys are Lucifites and Demons. This book take you on a ride that is amazing about a differ world if Angles had come down to breed with humans and then a big war had happen cause.... To know more grab your copy today it's so so so a must read!!!
A different version of the fight between good and evil, with a biblical background. Contemporary language and gadgets (iPhone, shower gels, skinny jeans...) the young generation will easily associate to.
Paranormal in its essence and reflecting emotional telltales of the 21st century (love is a weakness and it's ok to give your virginity to your boyfriend's brother in order to save him).
All the myths of Judean Christianity are found pelle mele, I am at a loss to understand where the author is bringing this story and didn't bother reading the sample from book 2.

3 stars for the effort of writing a book, which requires lots of concentration and discipline.
I'm so glad I got this book. It's Amazing! This book hand me going to school with Angels. I hate giving away spoilers and will limit them, but Dyston is so hot and I just want to touch his black wings. I love his I don't care mind frame and I love how he is willing to do anything to protect Scarlett. I thought that Lykan would not be the way he was and look forward to finding out more about him. I love Scarlett and think she is pretty awesome. I love her and Dyston. I also loved Jacob and Kat too. I love the flirting at this school. As you can tell I loved this book. The action in the book is non-stop. I could not stop reading this and the ending had me wanting more. I look forward to the next book.

I recommend this book to everyone who love something new and good. This book will have your thoughts everywhere. You will love the storyline, action romance and the fantasy. The author done a good job in writing this book. it's a easy read and the detail will have you seeing the school and people through words. I truly enjoyed this book and will be recommending it to everyone I know. Amazing!!
Scarlett Porter is half-human/half-angel otherwise known as Nephilim. On her 21st birthday, she continues the family tradition of attending Blackbell Academy to train and discover her Trait. Once there she befriends other Nephilim, Kat, Emer, Jacob, and Joshua. But she has unexpected encounter with Lakyn Blackbell whose ice blue eyes make her uneasy, and for good reason. Then she spots Dyston Blackbell, Lakyn's younger brother, and realizes he is the black-winged man of her dreams....literally. Scarlett doesn't want anyone to know she is a Legacy, but being a Legacy is the least of her problems, especially when her trait and heritage come to light.

L.L. Hunter does an incredible job with Book #1. At first, the book seemed "scattered" as she jumped back and forth between the characters. But the farther along I read, I realized the "scattered" plot was really evil genius. The back stories for the main characters of Scarlett, Emer, Kat, Jacob, Joshua, Dyston, and Lakyn are paramount to the development of the story. The characters are well developed and just when you think you know a character, heart and soul, you realize there is another side to their story (never judge a book.....). I can't wait to get into Book #2 and see where the wild ride will take me.
